What should I fill in “Smokers” section if I have recently quit smoking ?

Hi friends,

Query is  –

1. If  you have recently quit smoking, which option to choose i.e. smoker or non smoker category while opting for term insurance.

2. If you have opted term insurance in non smoker category and you started smoking then is this void the term insurance ?

    Dear Nitin, the insurer where you are comfortable. If it’s LIC for you, so be it. If it’s SBI, go there. If you are OK with HDFC, ICICI, Kotak, AVIVA, AEGON, go there.

    Looking for 1 Cr term insurance…..can you please suggest most preferred insurance company for the same .

    Dear Nitin, as you are/were smoker in past, please quote yourself as smoker. A non smoker like me (I never smoked in my life till this point of time), starts smoking here after, my existing insurance policy ‘ll remain intact.
