I hope you are not talking about margin trading requirements . Its generally depends on the stock itself , because margin for each stock might be different , If you want to buy 10k worth of some share and its margin is 10% , you need alteast 1000 to buy 10k worth of stocks .
There is nothing called a minimum investment. It depends on which stock you are buying, how much quantity and your risk level. Suppose you buy 100 shares of Rs. 5 each in the morning and if the afternoon the price reaches Rs. 6 you make a cool Rs. 1 per share. However if the prices goes down to Rs. 4 you loose Rs. 1 per share. There are lot of factors namely risk, greed, timing. Day trade is very risky and you have continuously monitor the terminal for the prices.
You can also put stop-loss to minimize your loss.
