What is the difference between buying an ELSS through AMC and buying it from ICICI direct ?

I want to buy an ELSS with direct plan, Please tell me differences between above mentioned 2 methods.

    Some extra charges will be there for every transaction that you make from ICICI direct demat account which will not be there if u buy from AMC or broker . So, better buy from ICICI AMC or broker instead of ICICI Direct demat account.

    Dear Patrick, the difference ‘ll come in the form of expense ratio. If you purchase from AMC directly, it ‘ll be a direct plan with lower expense rartio, translating into higher return to you. If you purchase from Icici-Direct, it ‘ll be regular plan of same ELSS with higher expense ratio and thus lower return to you.

    Hi Patrick,

    Direct plans are only available , if you buy directly through AMC.
    If you buy through ICICI Direct, it will only be regular plan for particular MF ELSS Scheme, not the direct plan.

      So if I buy ELSS through AMC, then where can i see my investment stats(how much returns i got till that day).

        Hi Patrick,

        In order to track your returns for direct plans,
        1) You can create a portfolio in any of the portals like Valueresearchonline, Economictimes.
        2) Add you Direct plan MF ELSS in that and track it

          I have checked in valueresearchonline, it is not showing direct plan of any MF ELSS to add, only showing regular plan.

            You can add Direct and Regular Plans in Valueresearchonline Portal, I have it in my portfolio on that site
