What is Form 5 for EPF Transfer Process ?

POSTED BY ylokesh ON January 21, 2014 8:31 pm COMMENTS (3)

This is related my PF transfer, I have applied for PF transfer through my current employer in Jan,2012, and got SMS confirmation from pf trust that the request got process in Aug,2012. I have verified the account in epfo site and I do not find the transfer amount in my pf account where the data is available till Aug, 2013.

I have raised grievance with EPF India and they closed it saying ”It is informed that claim form rejected with remark of Form 5 not received.

Any one has any idea what does this mean?

As per EPFO new rule, any PF account with EPFO and does not have PF contribution for 36 continuous months, becomes “Inoperative Account” and hence will not get interest from 37th month onwards. Whether Non-Recognized PF Trusts are also required to follow this rule is not clear. You should check with your old employer and the PF trust about the current status of your PF account with them. If they claim they transferred money to your PF account in EPFO office, request them the records for the same in the form of Cheque Number and any transfer form and its photocopy.

    Hi Ashal,
Thanks for the quick reply, I have verified with current employer they confirmed the same and requested me to raise online request for PF account transfer. Its been almost 2 years since there are no transactions in my old PF account. would I be getting interest for this 2 years?

Dear Ylokesh, form 5 is to be used for transfer of PF money from non recognized PF trust to EPF. So check with your old employer first.

    Thanks
