What if the entire world uses a single currency?

I had this hypothetical question in my mind for a long time. Finally, I though I could ask it here. What if the entire world would ditch their existing currency and move on to a new common/single currency ?

What would be implications? Will we have more benefits or disadvantages?

Dear Venkatesh, if there is common currency across the globe, where ‘ll be the return as all the things ‘ll be benchmarked with a common currency and no fluctuation against each other ‘ll reflect in no price fluctuation. 🙂

    thanks

Dear Ashalanshu, thanks for your response. Assuming in a ideal world this happens, will this not help our markets to stay more stable? I think there was some movement in market due to USD/INR fluctuation.

Dear Venkatesh, currency can be a single one but keeping in view the problem faced by EURO, the single currency may not provide the solution to each and every thing. Before the currency, the whole world should be one nation to accept this 1 currency thing.

    Thanks

Euro did exactly the same thing for the entire continent. Result is that it becomes unfair for few countries as the less productive countries gets cheap debt.
