Value added tax

POSTED BY Rajaram ON December 17, 2012 10:23 am ONE COMMENT

Hi,

In 2010 I booked flat on Ghodbunder Road, Thane under construction. Initially the amount showed to me was Cost of property plus other charges. After one and half year builder sent me letter of paying value added tax which was not supposed to be paid by me initially.

I just wanted to know the government guidelines on this and whether I am liable to pay this amount. If not paid what will be the repurcussions.

As now builder started asking me for paying this tax amount.

Regards

  1. Biswa Singh says:

VAT @14% of 70 % Construction Value has to be paid by you and this should have been included when they show total cost. I think when you apply for home loan this details has to be submitted to the bank.
