Upper Limit for IT Refund by ECS?

Is it correct that the upper limit for refund by ECS of excess Income Tax is Rs. 25,000? If the amount being claimed is more then refund will be by cheque only?

    Dear Hitesh, the answer is yes. The ECS refund order limit is 25000 Rs. only & any refund above this limit ‘ll be issued in bank cheque only by the refund banker (SBI).

      Can u pls tell where is it mentioned that above 25K refund wil be issued in bank cheque only.?
      Any circular by CBDT ?or is it the discretion by refund banker
