Dear Sir,

What is meant by Trigger option in mutual funds? When Trigger option was introduced? What is the futures of Trigger option?

    Dear Madan, trigger option gives the investor an option to take an automatic decision based upon the trigger. the trigger may be either for fresh investment or for redemption. If I recall right HDFC was the first AMC in India to launched Trigger option in India. It’s a personal choice to opt or not to opt Trigger based upon individual investors’ needs.
