I purchased a term insurance last year online and have provided all the facts to insurer best to my knowledge. (I missed one but updated later and received acknowledgement from insure about the same).
I never consumed alcohoilc beverages before i took the insurance and so was stated in the form. But later I have started it occasionally (Very rare , belive me I dont like it but take a sip or so as a part of business etiquettes).
Now does it necessary to inform the insurer about this change in my life style?
I have no issues if my premium is loaded now onwards for this reason….
Dear Gotu,
As rightly said, it doesn’t matter. But is there any evidence to suggest that you stated taking a sip after signing the contract.
Insurers may ask for the same in your case, it is easy to build a case of intentionally providing false information about life style.
I might seem like a bit orthodox, but trust me insurers do try to dig as far as possible to deny a large short term claim.
Thanks Ramesh for quick and straight answer…
