Are Tax free bonds from Hudco, NHRS good option ?

Hi, I want to put 25-30 lakhs in a relatively safe investment. Is Tax free bonds (like Hudco, NHRS) with approx 8% interest a good option? Is the interest earned in these tax-free bonds are completely tax- free?? Please suggest if any other options of investments that offer safety as well as good returns..Thanks

    Dear Murthy, For the given amount, these tax free bonds are good option. Yes the entire interest income is tax free.
