I am currently searching for a good home insurance policy for long term, for content and structure.

Please share your experiences with different insurance providers and also your inputs if any.

so far i have come across these two policies, that are not expensive and cover my needs

1) SBI general insurance – did not see any reviews on the policy yet

2) royal sundaram – have seen quite a few bad reviews of the same

These two policies offer 50% discount on premium if policy is taken for more than 10 years on structure.

thanks
mahesh

Even Bajaj Allianz GIC does the Home insurance for long term upto 20 years at 50% discount,

There is an option of increase in SI every year upon paying extra premium..
this option helps us as the cost of construction increases year after year, we would not be under-insured if anything happens after few years of taking the policy.

    Hi Manish,

    Thanks for the reply.

I was looking for home insurance not medical insurance.

I see that only bharti axa has home insurance of the three names you mentioned.

    thanks

    1. I was confused then ..

You can then take it from other companies also , go for some nationalised general insurance companies , they have a better history of these kind of policies !

  3. There are various aspects . If premium are lower , that does not mean its a better policy , a policy with lower premium might increase the premiums with subsequent renewals ,you will not be able to do much at that time, so better look at companies which might have higher premiums in the start , but do not increase the premiums later .

Maxbupa , Bharti Axa and Apollo are some of the names you can explore more on
