POSTED BY arnabganguli85 ON November 3, 2013 7:16 pm COMMENTS (2)

On www.valueresearchonline.com I was reading a fund card for a particular fund, where I saw the 5 yr Fund Return is 28.87% whereas the 5 yr SIP return is 16.46%. How are these two different and how are they calculated?

Many thanks in advance

Arnab

I think by 5 yr Fund Return of 28.87% what they meant is your absolute return of the amount you invested 5 years ago, so you would have invested Rs 100 5 years ago the current value would be 128.87.
And SIP return is if you would have started SIP 5 years ago and invest fixed amount regularly every month, then the return would be 16.46%.

    Thanks
