Should I reveal my mediclaim policy given by employer when I am taking new personal health insurance policy?

Hi,

I’m planning to take max bupa health insurance policy.

Should I reveal to them that I am already having a cover given by my present employer?

In case hospitalisation happens to me in future, am I at liberty to choose to whom should I submit the claim? to my company so that I enjoy claim-free personal policy?

OR is it compulsory that I should submit the claim to both of them so that they share the price?

Please help me clarify these issues.

Thanks

Anand

    Thanks Abhishek for the reply.

I have applied online for max bupa policy and I did not reveal company policy in that.

    Hi Anand,

You dont need to declare that you have a company mediclaim policy while taking a independant health insurance policy yourself.

When there is a claim, you can apply to your company for the claim and if it exceeds you can apply to the health insurance company.

    Regards
    Abhishek
