Should I continue my HDFC Click2Protect policy because I had bad experience ?

POSTED BY VishalP ON December 26, 2013 10:48 pm COMMENTS (15)

Hi Manish,

I need your guidance on continuing my HDFC Click2Protect policy. I purchased my policy on 28th Oct still not received hard copy of policy document.

The documents sent by HDFC via BSA courier never received to me. But HDFC says its delivered on 1st Nov.

I registered a complain with them stating that I have not received the documents, they said I need to provide written declaration for doc not received.

I again contacted them and instinct that I never received the doc,  so the customer care lady said that no need to submit the declaration and we will initiate doc resend request.

After 15 days ie today, I again contacted to check the status, they said that  I have to submit the declaration again.

I am frustrated with them now  and dont want to continue with HDFC.

Please suggest what should  I do now. I have a option of going to consumer care.

Thanks

Vishal

Dear Vishal, except WoP rider, others are not worth of your money. Please try to collect info for these riders, under what situation these ‘ll provide your family the claim and under what situation, not. Riders in Term plans have a very limited definition of covers whereas the standalone policies from general insurers for same thing cover a lot.

    Thanks

Dear Vishal, do you mean to say – adding accidental rider?

    Thanks

    1. VishalP says:

      Dear Ashal,

Yes I mean to say AD,CI,DR and WP all of riders.

      Thanks for correcting me. 🙂

      Regards,
      Vishal

    Dear Anil,

Thanks for sharing your experience. HDFC executaves are very slow in terms of process. They have 15 days window to solve the problem.

I have submitted declaration (as they ask me to do so) on 8th Dec. I got a call from them yesterday is on 23th Jan 2014 asking one more declaration on 100 Rs stamp paper.

I have make my mind now. Will close this policy and opt for new one.

Also, I am thinking to opt for the term policy which covers physical disabilities also.

    Dear Ashal,

I faced similar issues with ICICI Lombard , how ever they were quick in addressing the issue. Please check the escalation matrix of HDFC and see to whom you can escalate your issue.

Dear Vishal, as the policy has not reached to you till date and you are not at all satisfied, please apply in written to cancel the policy. Please check with Aegon, Aviva, SBI, Kotak, Metlife etc.

I do have my personal term cover from Aviva and whole experience was very nice.

    Thanks

    Ashal

    Thanks Ashalanshu.

Till date, I have not received my policy documents(hard copy) and really want to quit now.

Please let me know which are the other good term plan options available.

    Thanks,
    Vishal

      Hi Vishal,

In June 2013, I had also taken the Click2Protect policy and since I already have another policy with HDFC, my client ID was linked to new policy as well. Before taking this new policy, I have shifted my residence but had not updated my address with HDFC Life. They couriered my policy documents to my old address where no one was available and hence policy came back. I got a call from their customer care team that documents have come back undelivered and how do I want them to be delivered.

I chose to get them delivered at the nearest branch (eventually about 15-16 kms) from my residence, which they did and then the branch called up to inform that policy documents have reached there. I, finally visited the branch and collected the documents and also updated my address in their records.

All along my experience with HDFC has been good. I suggest you take your grievance to the higher level. Today with social media is so active, make use of it and put your experience on social media. I am sure HDFC Life team shall take a note of that very fast.

      Ashish

Dear Vishal, if you are satisfied with the over all set up, please continue.

    Thanks

    Thanks Basava.

Yesterday, I visited HDFC office and sow the delivery proof, to my surprise, it was delivered to the wrong person. They admired the mistake, but eventually I was suffered.

Only because of its claim settlement ratio, I am thinking to stick with this policy.

    Hi Vishal.

You need not to worry when they dont have the proof of delivery of the policy documents. U can surrender imidietly as soon u receive the policy if u dont want to continue with them. But that policy’s rating is good in claim settlement ie 95%.

    Basavareddy.

  12. VishalP says:

    Thanks a lot Ashal!!

I am going to visit HDFC Life office to see delivery proof.

  13. ashalanshu says:

Dear Vishal, please demand a proof of document delivery from HDFC. If you feel that things ‘ll not be good between you and HDFC, please come out from the policy by asking for surrender.

    Thanks

    Ashal
