Short term investment option

Hello-please can you advise me on my below query I have.

I would like to invest money for a time horizon of 6 to 9 months.Its actually for a marriage in the family and hence would prefer something very safe.

The money is in savings acct currently but the interest is really less hence thought if i can invest this money for a higher interest rate.

Please can you give me the option i have and what is the best one.

Would really appreciate your help.

    If I were you, I would have tried bank fixed deposit. I would not opt for debt mutual funds since the time is too short (6 months at the least) and occasion is too important (marriage).
