SBI locker allotment.

Hi,
Today I went to SBI miyapur (Hyderabad, AndhraPradesh) to get a locker. Branch employees said lockers are available and that I should deposit 2lakh in my account to get the new locker.

Since I have only 1.5L in my account, I requested branch manager to allot a small sized locker with 1.5 lakh deposit. I have account in my home town (Avanigadda, Krishna dist 521120, AndhraPradesh), He asked me about the home branch of my account, He rejected my request saying lockers are not available.

I came out and the bank employees are issuing new lockers to other customers and the employees are still saying lockers are available.

I have few questions.
Does SBI has any standard procedure for allotting the lockers to the customers?
Is it at the sole discretion of the branch manager to allot the lockers?

Thanks,
Sarath.

SBI Do not have standard policy they usually decide policy based on customer.

I had also bad experience at SBI,Bharat Road,Surat Branch.

Although they have number of locker available with them, They ask me to keep Minimum FD of 50000 Rs/- and take ULIP plan of SBI life to get locker.

  2. dear Sarath Chitta, please lodge a formal complaint with the bank. Wait for their response & post the update here in the forum.

    Thanks

    Ashal
