SBI does not allow to make non salary SB a/c as source account for EMI debit

POSTED BY Daredevil13 ON January 10, 2013 10:17 pm COMMENTS (2)

I have home loan with SBI maxgain facility.

Currently the ECS debit is from Citibank. I have SBI SB account login linked to OD account.

When i called up the bank to make SBI SB account as the source for EMI debit, they refused to do take the request unless the SB account is made as a salary account and one month salary is credited as a proof that it is indeed the salary account.

Is this really the case?

    Hi Ashal,

I checked with RACPC and SBI home branch and both say Maxgain OD account is NOT transferable. Also EMI Debit from SBI SB account can be done ONLY if the SB account is made a salary account. It seems there is a change in rules recently. This rule in my opinion is an inconvenience to the customers.

  2. dear Daredevil, I’m also running Max Gain for myself. my EMI are deducted from my SBI SB acct. which is not a salary account.

Please contact RACPC people for the same. If it not happens, try to contact the AGM of the RACPC, you ‘ll get a solution.

    thanks

    Ashal
