Rules regarding tax deducation on money spent on Home maintenace ?

Hi,

I own a flat for my residence. Now I have spend around 30000/- towards its maintenance (repairing, colour, etc). Can I claim tax deduction for the same? What is the tax rule regarding this.

Please advise.

    Dear Atanu, for self occupied property, no deduction or tax benefit is available for the expenses incurred by you.
