Retirement Planning

Hi.
I am 26 and I want to plan for retirement from this year.. Can someone please give me pointers on how and where to invest?
I am investing some amount in tax saving funds I plan to label it as my retiement fund.. Is it okay?
or do i need to make some other arragements?
