I have now paid and used indianwillmaker.com
I found it a good value for money. My first will was a template taken from internet which did not give me enough confidence. However, indianwillmaker.com website was very thorough with context-specific help as well as answering emails (strangely they called out that they do not entertain legal questions but they DID give satisfactory answers. This is in contrast to some tax/insurance related portals which promise answers over emails but weasel away from real answers by vague responses).

Dear Sambaran, you may check with vakilsearch also. they ‘ll arrange a local Banglore advocate for you.

    thanks

As I looked around more, I came across a website which helps in preparing a will. It is indianwillmaker.com
I have not used their services yet, but it felt great to browse around their website. It has a very interesting interactive questionnaire.

Thanks a lot Ashal. I am indeed looking forward to a lawyer/advocate I can trust. Hence this post in the first place.
On a slightly different note, I am amazed at the distance you go to help others and answer their questions. I cannot thank you enough.

Dear Sambaran, in that case, please contact an advocate in your nearby area who is competent for Civil matters in Banglore.

    Thanks

Dear Sambaran, if you identify your each assets and investment, definitely it ‘ll be helpful to your WILL executor as well as your legal hiers/WILL’s beneficiaries as clear instrucxtions from you are there.

Sealed closed is not at all compulsory. If you do feel that the locker/drawer is the place safe for your WILL, so be it.

    Thanks

The problem with ‘listing’ is that it changes with time. Not just the amount but also the buckets under which asset is existing. Ideally I do not want to revise the WILL except when I intend to change the beneficiary. I have shared the list of my assets through an informal communication. In the WILL I ideally want to persist with the superb umbrella phrase of ‘all movable and immovable properties’. However I need to be sure that my wish is legally tenable.

I also knew nothing about sealing till I came across a website yesterday. There are websites with conflicting information. Not sure who to trust and hence looking for a trustable-professional.

Dear Sambaran, what are your specific requirements that you need a professional to write your own WILL?

    thanks

      1. Should there be a section detailing the total assets I have by listing them? I have a will where I have used words like “I bequeath all my movable and immovable properties”. I thought it is a good way of depicting clearly without raising any ambiguity. But an article indicated that one must list the possessions. Not sure what to believe. Hence needed professional help.

      2. Not sure whether the will needs to be sealed closed. I had kept it just lying in my locker in a moisture proof plastic jacket. Apparently one must seal the will. Not sure what to believe. Hence needed professional help.
