Quantum LTE: which is better AMC or Fundsindia

POSTED BY Sandeep ON March 14, 2013 5:04 pm COMMENTS (11)

Dear Ashal,

1. I am planning to start STP Rs. 3000/month in Quantum Long term equity (G) from Quantum Liquid fund.

Since Long Term Equity is direct fund, which option would be better for an investment, through AMC or FundsIndia?

2. I started SIP (Rs. 2000/month) in ICICI Pru focused Bluechip fund through SBICAPSEC for 24 months which was completed last month.

   a. Shall I continue SIP in ICICI-Bluechip fund?

   b. If yes, would it be advisable to invest through ICICI AMC instead of SBICAPSEC?

   c. If AMC, will you suggest good ICICI liquid fund so that I can start STP to Bluechip fund instead of SIP ?

Term for above 2 funds (quantum & ICICI): 5+ yrs

Thanks in advance.

  1. Dear Sandeep, Please opt only Growth option as you are going to invest for long term.

    Thanks

    Dear Ashal,

My plan is to put 18000/- in Quantum liquid fund and then STP (3k/month) to equity fund for next 6 months. After 6 months, again add same amount in liquid fund and STP..and so on..

In case, if I put an amount e.g. 50000/- in liquid fund and STP (3k/month) to equity. So STP duration would be more than 1 yr in this case and then add again some amount in liquid (based on financial situation at that time)

For liquid fund, which option should I opt Growth or Divident (pay/re-inv) for above 2 cases?

( as of now, planning is for Quantum & ICICI MF)

    P.S: I m in 20% tax bracket.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Dear Sandeep, please read FAQs of fundsindia to understand. 15% is ok for VTP (at least for me), else there ‘ll be huge investments on mly basis in a bear market to sustain your 20% return. If you can Manage, so be it.

    Thanks

    Ashal

    Dear Ashal,

Thanks for your response. I was also thinking in the same direction.

    1. In other post, you mentioned about VTP . When I checked on Fundsindia, it is deafult mentioned as 15% (can be changed). How it works?

    2. Operating with Fundsindia is easy, I do agree. How it is linked with onshore stay?
I never invested through AMC till now so trying to understand problem with AMC, if any?

    Dear Srikanth,

Definitely, I will continue with Fundsindia…Thanks for your response.

  5. Dear Sandeep, a small disclosure from my side. I’m using fundsindia for non Quantum funds also. You may ask, why I’m not saving on Trail commission. Well I’m out of India as of now & in near future, want to continue the same way as the ease of operation with fundsindia is there for me.

    Thanks

    Ashal

  6. Sandeep,

    Srikanth from FundsIndia here.

Please use our services for Quantum. I’m sure you’ll come to FundsIndia for Quantum and stay for the other investments 🙂

    Regards,

    Srikanth

          1. Mr. Jha,

That is correct. Presently for RGESS investment purposes we have waived the a/c opening fees as well.

  7. Dear Sandeep, in case of Quantum AMc, you may use fundsindia platform as expense ratio is same for direct or broker mode. In case of IPru AMc, use direct investing to save on trail commission.

    thanks

    Ashal
