ONHi,
Can anyone please suggest me whether this portfolio looks ok? My risk appetite is moderate. I can invest 5000 a month in equity.
Large-cap: Franklin India Bluechip or DSPBR Top 100 Equity Reg
Large & Mid cap: Quantum Long Term Equity or UTI Opportunities
Mid & Small cap: SBI Emerging Businesses (already started investing)
Balanced: HDFC Prudence
All the funds are tied to long term goal like retirement and wealth creation. And Balanced fund for short term for sister’s education. If fund selected not good in particular category please provide your valuable suggestions.
Thanks,
Chetan

Dear Chetan, thanks for the update. Actually AMCs are also trying to settle with new system of direct investing. 🙂
Thanks
Ashal
I have invested in QLTE thru online. I tried purchasing FT India Bluechip thru online but they specifically asking that investor should be KYC verified with CVL but mine is under CAMS. So could not complete the transaction online. When I spoke with customer care they asked me to send self attested KYC verified letter and PAN Card to their Banglore address. After verifying they will let me know next procedures. Just thought of sharing this with readers.
Dear Ashal, Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestion!!. All the above 3 funds are 5 start funds so I will start investing in these funds starting from tomorrow. Once again, thanks a lot for your help!!.
Thanks,
Chetan
Dear Chetan, only 3 funds ‘ll do good for you.
FT Bluechip
QLTE
HDFC Balanced
As you have already started investment in SBI Emerging business, please continue for the time being.
Thanks
Ashal
Thanks for the suggestion.. Yes, I am investing in Balanced funds for short term of 3-5 years. I don’t have too much expectation. But I do hope that at least its returns will be around 8-9%.
And yes, I have debt component as well apart from above equity exposure. I am aware of core n satellite approach. So I will not be investing more in mid & small cap.
Dear Manish,
Please let me know if you have any suggestion for the above portfolio.
Thanks,
Chetan
Dear Harry,
I think the funds you have chosen are fine. Investing in the balanced fund depends on duration of goal. Don’t have too high expectations for such goals.
Hope you have some debt component for long term goals. Don’t have too much mid and smal;-cap exposure.
I would prefer FI blue chip and QLTE.
