Photograph for PAN Card

POSTED BY Anirban Ghosh ON August 9, 2012 11:31 pm COMMENTS (4)

Hello All,

My mother has applied for PAN card and after sending all documents the application status showed that photograph provided was not proper for scanning. However the same photograph has been accepted for her passport application & the passport’s also been issued.

Then we took a different photograph of her and sent it to the IT department. But again got a similar email stating photograph provided is not proper for scanning.

Can someone please suggest a next course of action that can we follow. Don’t want to spend again on taking yet another photograph & sending it to them only to be rejected with a similar note.

Thanks!

    1. Hi nakul

This is very specific query which you should follow up with the concerned authority only. We wont be able to comment on that

    Anirban,

When you are submitting the PAN application, please confirm with the counter officer if the application is in line with the requirement. As Ashal mentioned, the best photo is one which is in white / light grey or cream background as it helps in scanning.

Also, please make sure that the photograph is of the size mentioned in the box. At times people stick large photos which are not fittign in the box and hence not suitable for scanning.

  3. Dear Anirban Ghosh, please re apply. Please paste the photographs within the boxes. Please paste the photograph with a white back ground for proper scanning.

    Thanks

    Ashal
