My Parents are covered under central government health scheme (CGHS) scheme. Is it sufficient ?

My parents (Fathers: 61 years, Mother: 55 years) are covered under central government health scheme (CGHS) since my father was a central government employee.

I have health insurance of 3 lacs offered by my employer. So is this sufficient for my parents or should i buy another health insurance for them which will be very costly now.

    Hi Vaibhav,
In my opinion, one cannot depend on the health insurance provided by the employer. What if you change your job ? I faced similar situation, while leaving job, I have inquired about continuing the policy and the rates were different and the illness coverages were different and waiting periods are introduced.
To avoid all this fiasco, go for a family floater for you three. Yes, that would be a bit expensive, but worth the peaceful life. How much is the limit for CGHS ?
I would adivce at least 4 lakh family floater or even higher if you can afford.

    cheers
