Dear sir,

             I have no ideas in shares & markets. I’m interested in MF, I don’t know where and how to do investments in MF and which is the better MF to invest. I heard that HDFC MF is good in these days, is that correct?. If so can invest in that? If not which is the better MF to do investments.

Thank you

    @Ranjith,

    Everyone was like you before they started investing or became an expert. What I did is as follows

    – Not event think of investing in next 3 months, even if it looks so tempted(I am saying not because of the market but I believe first you should have some knowledge before you wanna invest your hard earned money)
    – I first read all different types of funds from wikipedia
    – Read all the blogs w.r.t. mutual funds from jagoinvestor & other money related blogs
    – Start comparing mutual funds on moneycontrol/valuerresearchonline on your own & then compare with expert’s opinion. See if you are able to analyze them on your own..
    – Be a voracious reader on anything/everything comes your way on this subject in the next 1-2 months, you would automatically feel confident. Then start investing that too in small amount.
    – IMHO, MF investment is more art than science/logic (I am not saying it is illogical, but I want to say that there are so many factors involved), therefore experience plays a major role here & there is no short-cut like all good things in life:)

  3. Dear Ranjith, first of all please invest your time to read past discussions & articles in this forum as well as main JI site. You ‘ll get the inputs automatically why you should invest & how you should invest in MFs?

    thanks

    Ashal
