Help me choose a simple Mutual Fund Online Porfolio Tracker

POSTED BY Free Financial Calculators ON June 18, 2012 9:03 pm COMMENTS (10)

Can you please point me to a good mutual fund portfolio tracker? After the death of MoneySights (7th June) I am looking for the following features:
1. Minimal data entry for SIP. MoneySights WAS very good in this aspect. Choosing price for each SIP is irritating (Value Research, equity master, mfiportfoliotracker(?) and a couple of other sites do this).
2. No obligation to become a MF buyer (send documents etc.) even if the account is free. (Funds India)
3. Site should not ask me for folio no and password of the AMC (like Perfios)
4. I dont mind paying a fee as long as it convenient.
Thanks.

You could try my portal as well – however, to make it automated SIP entry, you would have to get my ARN number against the SIPs. It is actually a very carefully thought through MF portfolio tracking tool.

    1. BFA, Yes I did try your portal sometime back and left it since I thought you didn’t have SIP option. I dont understand what ‘your’ ARN number against the SIPs means. Please elaborate.

I would also like to know the same.

I use VRO, but looking for an alternative. I liked MS, but sadly it’s no more.

I am not sure if you have this in your city or not but NJFUNDZ is very good… they have account only for MUTUAL FUNDS and charge no fees… 🙂
    Please verify before opening.

    1. Dear Sunil, the basic query is for tracking & not for investment in MFs.

      Thanks

  5. Dear FFC, please give a try to Perfios.

    Thanks

    1. Thanks Ashal. I forgot to add Perfios to point no. 3. Have updated it now.

Storing passwords in my computer or their server is unnecessary. Do they do it differently for gold/platinum accounts?

They are AMCs like Canara Robeco and Escorts which are still dinosaurs.

I wish somebody would acquire moneysights

        Hi FFC,

I have been using value researchonline.com –My Portfolio— to track my MF investments.

It is free & is quite user friendly & nice.

Only draw back I notice is there is no box to store Folio Numbers & I have suggested this to them.

        1. Dear Dr. Chandrashekar, Thank you for your inputs. I too have VR account. The problem with the VR account is entering SIP data is a pain. I have SIPs which stared 4 years ago. To enter SIP data into VR I need to know the exact transaction dates of 48 transactions. This is irritating.

Moneycontrol is a little better but if the SIP data is a holiday then the previous day NAV is taken! It should be the next business day NAV.

This is where moneysights scores. Data entry is minimal for SIPs.

In principle it is possible to do this with an excel file

          See:
          http://greenbuck.blogspot.in/2009/01/mutual-fund-tracking.html
(see the comments to correct the NAV weblink)

But for some reason it hangs for me.
