Maxbupa’s Heartbeat or Oriental’s Happy Family Floater

Dear Manish Ji,

I’ve to take a health insuarance policy for self (26), Spouse (27), Mother (51) & Father (51). I’m quite confused betwenn maxbupa’s heartbeat and oriental’s happy family floater. I’ve gone through the policy wordins of both the policies, as far as I’ve understood both the policies have alomost similar clauses. Maxbupa is offering day care procedures, waiting perios for prexisting diseases is 4 years, No loading  and oriental is having same waiting period for pre existing diseases, 5% to 20% loading but they also offer similar no-claim bonus, different waiting period for various diseases max. upto 4 years.

Exclusions are also similar but the huge difference is in the premium amount, Oriental is offering somewhere around 8.5K for 3 lacs and Max bupa is having premium of approx 16K for 3 Lacs.

Now my questions are:

1. Which one should I go for in your opinion ?

2. Is paying so much of premium to Maxbupa worth ?

3. Would you like to recommend any other policy ?

4. What are the other diffrences in between both the schemes ?

Please guide me as I’ve very little knowledge on this.

Thanks and regards

Atul Singh

    Thanks Ashal……

  2. Dear Atul, instead of opting just 3L Rs. please purchase at least 5L Rs. cover from Oriental. The reason for opting higher cover, medical costs are increasing at a higher rate than inflation. if you can afford, even go for 7L Rs.

    Thanks

    Ashal
