Is PAN card is compulsory to open PPF account as per RBI guidelines ?

Dear all,

which documents are require to open PPF account, as i visited Bank and as per them PAN card is compulsory require as per RBI guideline

so anybody have that link of RBI rules

    Dear Vivek, to follow KYC, PAN card is now must for financial transactions. In case you do not have one, you may procure one and update the same after you open your account. In this case you w’d have to file a declaration in Form 60 that you do not have PAN card as on date. By the way, PPF does not come under RBI, hence no guidelines from RBI on that issue. 🙂
