For DIRECT funds – Yes – you will be having multiple portfolio’s in multiple Fund house, and will be able the register and create userid to buy/sell online.
For regular plans – like by Fundsindia account you will be able to buy mutual funds from all fund houses.
But remember the difference of expense ratio (.5% to .7% yearly).
See, distributors/brokers like fundsindia., Sharekhan, ICICIdirect etc- they all sell regular plans of any mutual fund.
To invest in direct funds you have to contact with AMC/Fund house (not bank) of that fund.
like HDFC AMC for any HDFC mutual funds, ICICI AMC fir any ICICI funds etc.
Obviously Fundsindia is reliable, very good services with innovative schemes to invest.
But why you are going with a distributor rather than direct options with Fund houses itself, where lower expense ratios will make significant differences in long term.
Thanks Sumit…got it
