My father has retired recently & wants to invest his life savings/corpus in good avenues . Can you please suggest how should we go about doing this? He doesn’t want to take much risk and has no pending debts.

Please help. Thanks for your time and efforts.

Dear Pulkit, please split your amount in multiple FDs of say 1L each or 2L each. The reason of split, in case of need, your father need to break only 1 or 2 FD.

    Thanks

Dear Pulkit, at his age and risk appetite, ask him to put majority of his savings into Bank FDs. A small part (15-20%) of the retirement corpus can be allocated into tax free bonds of REC, Hudco etc.

    thanks

      Hi Ashal

      Thanks for your kind response.

Further, can you please suggest what should the proportion of investment of these investments in FD. I mean to ask how many FDs should we ideally look at investing in, say in equal propositions? Any help would be much appreciated.

      Thanks
