Investment in mutual funds directly – Fundsupermart and Fundsindia reliability?

POSTED BY Prasad ON May 14, 2011 10:56 am COMMENTS (6)

I would like to start a couple of SIPs, but would prefer to invest directly online. I’ve heard about these two sites I mentioned, which allow us to invest in multiple MFs directly online in one place; it looks very convenient and easy. However, being something related to finance, I’d like to know about their reliability before doing anything. If anyone has any personal experience with them, or knows how trustworthy & reliable they are, please reply.

The sites:

www.fundsindia.com

www.fundsupermart.co.in

If neither, then what are the other options available for me to invest in MFs directly? I would like to avoid offline work as much as possible.

I am an investor investing with fundsupermart.co.in for the last 2 years. They dont charge anything from you neighther annual chages nor any transaction charges. Moreover, they offer with good research and good contents without any cost.

Moreover, they have got more funds listed on their platform compared to any other online mutual fund compay and I get more choice since more than 38 banks are listed through them.

I would ask and recommend people to open an account with fundsupermart.co.in rather than opening your account with any other mutual fund distributor.

    Hi Prasad,

I have been using Fundsupermart for over an year now and while opening an account had all these queries about them being reliable. The answer that i got from them is “All transactions on Fundsupermart.com are processed with strict security using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which is the security standard used by the world’s top financial institutions. It is verified by VeriSign, the leading authority on Internet security.” (available in their FAQ’s).
Also they have a wider range of AMC’s and Banks available with them. I could even register my CITIBANK with them which i couldn’t with any other online platform 🙂

    Renu 🙂

    Dear Prasad,
If u r KYC status is verified then u can go with online transaction. But if u r KYC still not verified then by help of Pos (Point of Service) in u r city first u should apply for KYC. Bcoz for online / offline transaction KYC mandatory.
If u invest in any AMC for first time then u have to give all details to them. From next time if u want to invest in same MF house then by using existing Folio number u can invest directly by online.
