First of all get a term insurance and health insurance. Create an emergency fund which is around 6 months of your salary.

Second before jumping into any investment please go through the jagoinvestor blogs and if possible buy the book by Manish which just around rs 300 and read it. It will give you a clear picture of what do you want to achieve. Once you know your goals start investing and at that time raise your queries here to get further help.

Just to give you a hint you get good returns from equity or Mutual Fund. But please prepare yourself well before you start exploring it.
