How to remove my bad remarks from CIBIL report after Settlement years back ?

Hi

5 years ago, I had 2 credit cards with Citibank and ICICI bank. I had a large amount due which was very difficult for me to pay back. So, I asked both banks for settlement and they agreed. So I paid the settlement amount and got the settlement letters from the banks.

Now when I got my credit report from CIBIL, it shows both credit cards due as Rs. 000 (running for last 3 years) and my score is quite poor at 694. Can these Rs. 000 entries removed from my CIBIL report?

Or will they be removed automatically? If so, when? Is there anything I can do to improve my score of 694?

I currently do not own any credit card neither I have any loan.

Dear Tushar, Yes is the answer. After your full settlement and new No due certificate from the 2 Card issuing banks, you should wait for 60 days for the data updation, post that check your CIBIl score again and if the thing is not cleared, please file a complainet with CIBIL for the same and CIBIL ‘ll demand the clarification from the banks against your complaint.

    Thanks

Dear Tushar, as the amount was settled and not fully repaid, these entries ‘ll be there. How long? At least 7Y, after that as of now CIBIL has not decided to keep or delete such old history.

So paying back the old amount to get it clean is your only option.

    thanks

Does that mean, if I pay that remaining amount now (may be with interest/penalty, if any) for both cards, that entry will be removed from my CIBIL report?
