The primary reason for moving to SBI, is that I can pay PPF online, which is recurring. You might have hassles in opening an account and its one time and worth doing it, evnthough it might take more time. Post account creation, its easy. I generally get my queries clarified over mail and their service is reasonably good.
I’ve only had very pathetic response/service from SBI w.r.t. PPF.
“How can I open a PPF account for you today? There’s so much rush. Come some other day.”
“It’s difficult to open a PPF account if you don’t have an SB account here.”
Compare this to Post Office where I opened the account in 15 minutes on March 31 (year end – won’t ever happen in SBI). Also, transactions have been trouble free and quick (< 5 mins for payment)! I can't imagine transactions to be this easy at SBI.

These are just my thoughts and experiences.

I don’t know, but here’s a thought…

I’ve only had very pathetic response/service from SBI w.r.t. PPF.
