ONSir/Madam,
I’ve used a credit card in 2008. But recently i came to know that that was not closed. My name is appearing in the cibil. Now i want to close this issue. They are given some settlement amount. Would you suggest me that do i pay the stllement amount or i need to pay the outstanding amount. But i don’t want to appear my name in the cibil.
Please suggest me with a good advice.

Just having your name in CIBIL records is not bad in itself. If you have any credit cards or loans, your name will be in CIBIL. What matters is if you pay your dues on time and as dear Hemanth says what is the status of your credit accounts.
If you pay the settled amount, then status will be ‘settled’ in CIBIL which gives a negative impression. So, if you can, pay full and then status will be ‘cleared’ which is good.
