My net salary is about Rs. 20,000 p.m. I have a R.D of Rs. 5,000 p.m. and recently taken a policy of HDFC Life Pro Growth Plus amounting to Rs. 2,500 p.m. Please suggest me whether to proceed with my decision or change some thing ?

Do the portals like policy bazaar include govt insurance companies like Oriental, New India Assurance?
I feel we should also consider these companies along with the ones given by policy bazaar. They provide good policies especially in the case of health or vehicle insurance.
policy bazaar is bit biased at times. We should do a research of our own, and should do not proceed blindly based on their recommendations alone

Nobody knows what a ‘best’ product is. They would simply suggest what they got or what they sell! Asking for the ‘best’ product is the ‘best’ way to get confused.
1) First decide on amount of insurance.
Term insurance depends on number of dependents, and their long term goals. If you are not married (but intend to) get a cover for about 15-20 times your annual income with your parents as nominee (for now)
2) Decide on your budget.
3) Go to a policy comparison portal like policy Baazar and scout for plans.
4) Choose one you are comfortable with.
5) Ignore nonsense such as claim settlement ratio
