ONI am looking for health insurance for my parents, aged 64yrs. and 56 yrs. My father has problems like hypertension, prostate enlargement, would need knee replacement in few years(recommended by doctor), reflux acidity. My mother has thyroid and anthritis.
I am looking for a cover of minimum 5 lacs for each, or should I go for some super top-ups? I have a company insurance of 3 lacs(floater).
Should I go for individual plans or floater? I have come across Religare Care plan which seems good. Should I go for 5 lacs individual plan for both?
I also looked at National Insurance which is offering 10 lacs floater at around 40k premium. Is that good to go with?

Dear Gunjan, I can not comment that for your father’s medical problems ‘ll you get benefit of IHO or not. My personal take, purchase a cover for your mother. At the same time start creating a medical emergency fund for your father. Try to divert as much money as possible to you for it.
Thanks
Ashal
Dear Gunjan, looking into the details of problems for your father’s health, your chocies are limited. Please consult your case with medimanage people before walking ahead.
Thanks
Ashal
I consulted with Medimanage and they said my father will not be covered by any plan due to prostate enlargement problem. My mother can get cover from Religare Care plan.
Policy Bazaar called me and told the same that my father will not get any cover. They told me about indian health organisation preventive health care plan, where upto 30% discount is offered for some medical expenses. Is anyone aware of it and whats the feedback. Should I go for it as I am not getting any cover for my father.
What should I do?
