   My father is 75 years old and my mother is of 69 years. My father does not have any medical problem thankfully. However, my mother is having arthritis related issues on and off. They are covered under my office health insurance which is very less 1.5 L per annum.

   Kindly suggest is it advisable to take separate health insurance at this age or should I save lump sum traditionally?

   I have done some reaserch where premium is very high and may not cover present medical issues

   Kindly advice.

      Yes, it might happen that they are not covered for a policy . Because at this stage , it really gets tough. I will connect you to our health insurance expert who can help you on this.

   Dear Transhem, please try to contact over phone. Keeping the age and Pre-existing illness in mind, I seriously doubt that you ‘ll get cover for your grandma.

   Even if you get policy, it ‘ll not cover diabetic and BP related problems.

      Hi Ashal,

      I am fortunate that L&T has agreed to give out a Medisure Classic plan for my grandmom.
      They performed a premium loading of 10% on the existing premium{Diabetes} and gave us a counter offer.
      Also the knee joint disorders and subsepquent complications were permanently excluded.

   Try L&T Medisure Classic. If not you can look for some Senior Citizen policies from Max Bupa, Star health etc.. search in internet.

         Hi Nikhil,

         L&T medisure was reasonable and i felt i was better as compared to others as my grandmom was 76.
         L&T has agreed to roll out the plan and the policy details will be sent out soon.

         Only drawback being that, knee joint disorders were permanently excluded from the plan.

         Thanks for all your suggestions, it has helped me to close the case fast.
