Health Insurance for Parents

POSTED BY finnaive ON June 19, 2013 8:05 pm COMMENTS (4)

A friend of mine is looking for Health Insurance for his Parents. Uncle is 67 and Aunt is 54 years. They do not have any history of any major illness, except uncle has high BP.

Which Health Insurance would be a better one for them? Also should he buy indivisual plans for each of his parent or a Group Floater plan with High coverage for both of them?

I am aware of Starhealth’s Senior Citizen Plan, want to know if there are better plans available.

Thanks

Another thing, you must buy is a bank-Insurance tie up product like PNB Orierntal etc.
It will be a hassle free entry at this age for both of your parents. though it has long term drawback, but something is better than nothing.

You must move with star health policy as Portability is very tough at this stage.

Go for a Apollo Munich East health policy or Royal Sundaram Good health policy for your mother

For your father, go for Religare Care of 2 lac.

    Dear Mr Mahavir
Thanks a lot for your inputs. Would you suggest taking a floater from any of these 3 references you have provided?

I never knew Star Red Carpet had so many limits. I have been using this policy for my Dad (64 years since last 3 years. The policy is due for renewal this month end. Do you suggest I continue with Red Carpet or shift to a better provider for my Dad’s policy?

    Thanks
