    Hi,

I wanted to take a individual cover for my parents and myself. Most of the insurance companies (Oriental, New India) did not want to give a individual cover for my parents, Oriental has a policy where I was the owner of the policy and can add my parents has my dependents, but the 3 yr restriction for pre-existing disease was present. He suggested a floater for Rs 5,00,000/-, but he said that the first Rs 10,000/- will not be paid.

Later I went for National Insurance, they have a senior citizen sheme, so I decided to take that for my parents, they cover 2 pre-existing disease a) Blood Pressure and b) Diabetes by paying a small extra premium.

For myself I have taken a Rs 500000/- cover from National Insurance.

Sundeep do let me know is you have any question in particular, I will try to answer it.

For parents go for individual policies.

above age 60 or 65 not many companies issue policies and the option left is Senior Citizen policies. Its a co-payment policy whre certain expense you have to bear.

National Insurance and Star Health has such policies.Check them out.

For you Check Policies from Apollo,National,Star Health. The benefiit with Apollo will be No sub Limits.Later on you can take floater when you get married and your family increases.

You should take individual policies at this stage and you cant increase the cover later in the same policy , Atleast I am not aware of anything like that .

For policy choice MAX BUPA or APPOLO would be good from service point , but frmo premium point NATIONAL INSURANCE OR ORIENTAL would be better
