  1. Dear Pushkar, if you are already having a running illness (in your given example, Hear Attack 15Y ago), the policy ‘ll exclude the claims generating either directly or indirectly due to that illness. Sample this – A diabetic person may face organ failure, so claims filed for Organ failure may not be passed.

This is just one example. There are several others. There is more to it. It’s a complicated medical terminology, which is not the cup of every one (including myself). 🙂

To understand the full wordings of T&C of a health policy, we require a qualified Doctor on our side. 🙂

    Thanks

I would like to ask, what’s exact definition of pre-existing disease? If a person had a heart attack say 15 years ago , then will he be covered for the same after 4 yrs waiting period??

Or the disease will be permanently excluded?

I called some private insurance companies, and they said: they will not issue a policy to such a person.

    Please reply.
    Thanks.

🙂 .. as ashal also said , this question itself had a answer in itself , all you need to do is be on the other side of the question 🙂

  5. Dear Rajesh, let’s understand this question differently. You are the insurer & I’m the insurance seeker for my PeD. Now you are already well aware of the fact that from day one, there ‘ll be claim. So ‘ll you except 10000 Rs. a sprem. from me to pay me 1L or 2L sum assured return back immediately as claim amount?

That’s why, no insurer ‘ll cover PeDs from day one. Once the coling off period is over, I have already paid at least 4 prem. to you, so now you can think of accepting claims & paying some thing back if not all in the claim. 🙂

    Thanks

    Ashal
