    1. healthinsuranceshoppe says:

You should recommend her to buy Max bupa family floatar.

      Why:?

      Because

      1. She will be medically secured.
      2. Premium will be low at their age in Max bupa
      3. Maternity benefit is covered after 2 years.
      4. New born baby is covered from first day and vaccination for new born child is free in first year.

The health insurance requirement is different for different folks. Typically the employer’s health insurance will cover for family as well (dependent parents, spouse, kids). Please ask your friend to check with his employer. sometimes the cover for family is on co-pay basis.

But I would recommend to have a separate health insurance plan as well. since your friend is newly married, the nearest requirement I suspect will be for planning a family. Most personal health insurance policies will NOT cover maternity expenses, but Max Bupa will cover it after 2 years of waiting period. check out their Family First policy http://www.maxbupa.com/ForyouyourFamily/Heartbeat/FamilyFirst.aspx

[I am not associated in any way with Max Bupa and recommendation is based purely on my study of health insurance policies]
