ONThank you for your blog on Health Insurance. Quite helpful. I am considering insuring my parents Dad age 56. Mom Age 48. Which insurance should i go for. Currently no illness etc. I have been seeing Max Bupa (5L each + 15L floater) does that make sense? Any other recommendation?
Thanks a ton for your time!

Dear Jwalant, Please increase your cover amount every year by at least 1L Rs. if not more. As your PILs are also part of your family floater, any illness to one of them or both in the same year, may wipe out the total sum assured very fast.
Thanks

Dear Chandan, yes is my answer.
Thanks
Ashal
Dear Ashal
It is better to take family flotter plan with parents / parents in laws with self / spouse as proposer which will be less premium.
I am having one qurey.
I am having 5 lakh medical flotter including my family & parents in law. I am 32 now & when i turn 50 after 18 years whether 5 lakh will be enogh for my health insurance??
whther i should purchase another individual health insurance or i should increase my family flotter at every 5 years. how much maximum they will increase cover??.
So what you mean is I should be the proposal holder and include parents as dependents right in the policy?
Dear Chandan, please check the prem. for floater policy with/with out your parents. You ‘ll understand what I mean.
thanks

Ashal, thanks for your comment. Am connecting with medimanage guys too. what did you mean by don’t include parents in floater — you mean get indiviual policies for them is it? any reasons why — did not understand this?
Dear Chandan, please do not include parents in a floater plan. Oriental is good.
Thanks
Ashal
I will. But can you recommend between Religare, Oriental, HDFC and Max Bupa for my parents for a coverage of either 5 lakhs each and 15 lakh floater or 10 lakhs each what would you recommend. Which insurance is better
Dad age 56. Mom Age 50
