hi manish,
i have taken online insurance from hdfc click2protect on 12-04-12 and made the payment.
i uploaded required docs and emailed them.
i got a call from co. for taking appointment for medical examination near to my place.
they said i have to bear the medical cost.
so i emailed them again asking the reason behind it. no reply from them since 2 days.
i also put the post on facebook page of the co.

now manish, is it common that the customer has to bear the cost. but to my knowledge that has to be bear by co.

  1. Dear Alpesh, please confirm the same with branch office of HDFC in your area.

    Thanks

I bought a HDFC C2P policy in Jan end. Gone through medicals in Feb end and received the policy in March end. It took some time, but medical cost was borne by company. Age – 33, SA – 50L.
Not sure, if you have to go through some special test.
I’ve found that getting exact info from their online/tele customer care people is a bit tough due to new setup. I would suggest you to go to your nearest HDFC Life branch with your Online application number, to get the quick and proper information.

I’d rather you look for similar plans from other insurance companies. From my personal experience, I did not have to pay anything for medical tests done by Aviva.

Sadly, I came to know from some one else that the medical costs has to be borne by customers in case of HDFC click2protect term plan . That might be a reason how their costs are lower

Call back and check with them again…they might have said you have pay if you dont take the term insurance and close within lock in period

    Hi Alpesh,
I dont think customer (you) should bear the medical cost.

I am in the process of purchasing a term policy from Aegon. Medicals were done last week and they have not asked for any cost.
My friend has also purchased from Aviva and medical costs were borne by the company itself.

    Rgds,
    Jassi
