HDFC Child Gift Invest Fund VS Diversifed Equity Funds

Dear Sir,

 

For child education (13years from now), do i need to invest in HDFC children gift investment plan? OR in other diversified funds like quantun longterm equity and IDFC Premiur equity?

is there any different procedure to invest in child mutual funds?

Please clarify

    HDFC children gift investment plan is a balanced fund with about 70% in equity.
    IDFC Premier Equity is a mid and small cap fund
    Quantum Long Term Equity is a large and mid cap fund.

    After identifying how much you need to invest each month you could start investing about 40% in Quantum Long term equity
    40% in HDFC Child gif invest or HDFC balanced or prudence
    20% in IDFC premier equity

    One of many ways of doing this.
