For how many years an NRI can carry forward Investment losses in ITR ?

Sir

I   am an NRI . If I have a loss (INVESTMENT LOSS IN SHARES ) in AY 2011-12 , how many years I can carry forward the same .  Can an NRI get the benefit of Sec 80 C  and how much is the total allowance

    Dear Suniraj, yes, you can carry forward the STCL for 8Y. Section 80C is available for NRIs.

      Thanks for your response . Actually it is STCL and I hope it can be set off against STCG in the same year and future years until the loss is settled , am I correct kindly advice . Also sec 80c benefit is available for NRI ?
