Dear Divya, I want to understand your thought process. Say I’m available in your nearby area (although not available but just for sake of discussion, please assume so). Now what you & your husband ‘ll achieve by meeting me face to face? How ‘ll you decide that I’m good enough or not? What;s the scale to measure my performance/goodness?
Personally I would prefer to sit and talk to a planner. Manish has recommend
a) Partha Iyenger b) Sumeet Vaid above.
Simply type their names in google followed ‘financial planner’ and it will give all the info you need.
offline or online planner competence is difficult to judge. If I sit down with a planner I can gauge my comfort level with him/her, ask point-blank questions like “Do you get commissions from elsewhere or do you depend only on client fee?”
and see his facial reactions. A lot more can be discerned from a face-to-face meeting.
Reviews can be done offline. I strongly believe for someone who doesn’t A from B of personal finance should speak to a planner directly.
Dear Divya, had you checked with the names already suggested above? Are you interested in face to face meeting? You can do online also with many planners. Dear Manish & dear Nandish are already doing it.
Dear Sunil, you should not feel sorry. Forum belongs to all of us. No matter you are discussing in the thread started by you or someone else. The important point is all of us are getting benefits from the discussion.
Dear Amit, should I understand that you want a face to face meeting with the financial planner? You can check the list of planners available @ http://www.FPSBindia.org
Dear Manish & dear Nandish (owner of this site – jagoinvestor) are also offering paid financial planning services. Although none of them is residing in Mumbai. They are doing it online.

Hi Anshal ,
Thanks for the prompt response.
I was not able to contact the financial planners suggested by Manish as I don’t have there contact numbers.
I wish Manish and Nandish were available offline and not online ( 😛 ) as me and my husband would prefer a face to face meeting.
Thanks again!
Divya
Use a video chat system to be face-to-face (virtually).
It is better to have a trusted FP.
And everything can be done through mail/phone/text/video nowadays. Saves time too.
Just think about it.
