EPF Account In-operative

I had an EPF account of more than 10 years, when i checked the status of the account online it was in-operative. Does anyone know the process to make it operative. Not sure if the organization which i worked for still exists.

    If you decide to withdraw, is there any tax liability?

      Dear Kapil, the question of tax liability ‘ll depend upon the service period. If it was more than 5Y, tax free for less than 5Y period, taxable.

    As per the new guidelines , an EPF account will be inoperative if its dormant from last 3 yrs .. now all you can do it withdraw it or transfer to new company . There is no other way to make it operative .
