Does SBI provide Netbanking Facility to PPF Account ?

1. I updated my passbook today. The NEFT transaction worked perfectly. Can you please tell me whether SBI provides netbanking service for PPF a/c so that I can check the balance through computer… do not have to go to the bank to update passbook. I know that ICICI provides online services for PPF. What about SBI ? Any idea ?

2. I started PPF in 1995 and continuing with the 1st — 5 years extension. As per my understanding it can be extended upto 2025 with another 2 nos 5 years extension. I will retire on 2028. Can I extend upto for 3 years ie from 2025 to 2028 and withdraw the same on 2028.

    Dear Usctty, you may get netbanking for viewing only for PPF. Online withdrawal is not permitted from PPF. In my personal opinion, you should continue your PPF even after retirement for tax saving related investments as in post retired life not many instruments ‘ll be there for you.

    1) Yes, my PPF account is linked to savings account in SBI. I have opened PPF account in 2011 and savings account in 2008. I do contribute to PPF account online from savings account. You have opened in 1999, I’m not sure your previous transaction will appear, but your recent transactions of last two years in your PPF account should reflect in internet banking.

    2) You can extend for five years each time till your life time , after initial 15 years lock in period
