   Dear Anand, If the agent is still in the same business after 10-15-20Y & above that your family is in the same city, the agent may come to help. Interestingly it’s not obligatory to agent to serve his customers or their family to file a claim.

   Can the same agent who helped you getting the policy, help your dependents in the case of the claim?

   Dear Vishal Tiwari, almost all insurers be it Life or General or health do have dedicated claim settlement department. But unlike the agents selling the policies, there are no such agents helping you or your family to file a valid claim.
